Looking behind Walls

In January it was reported that in Paris, this aristocratic oil painting (10 by 20 foot) was found behind a wall during the demolition for a new boutique. Turned out to have been painted in 1674 by Arnould de Vuez. Is valuable both from a historical viewpoint as as well as an artistic one. (Venessa Friedman, NY Times, 24 Jan 2019 D section)

I live in a 200 year home. This colonial structure was a first home of a boot maker (no, not a boot legger). When we occupied the house, we found a pair of very old baby shoes. They were saved on a wooden wall brace in a remote section of the attic. This section had not been walled in.

Valuable items and thoughts are often hidden or misplaced and forgotten.

I have not demolished any of the walls in my home.
