Don’t miss “Putting Two & Two Together”, the closing event of our dual show “Go Figure: Art About Mankind and Mind”.

WHO:
J. D. Sage {my Dad} and Kevin Burns, two artists who are also scientists, will each give a TED-style talk about dual themes of their individual works. Birgit and Luis will serve dual themed food and drink, and all are invited free of charge.

WHAT:
Have you ever wondered how man’s expression of himself has changed over the past 20,00 years? In his talk, “Metaforms, Metanudes, etcetera“, J. D. Sage will discuss man’s need to express his outer self and inner self, using examples of his own work inspired by other artists around the world over the past 20,000 years.

Have you ever wondered why we find some works of art more aesthetic than others? In his talk, “Thinking Through Art”, Kevin Burns will discuss how aesthetics arise from explaining meaning after experiencing surprise, and will demonstrate how it’s been tested in scientific experiments and applied in artistic practice.

WHEN:
The event will be held from 6-9 PM on Wednesday October 26. TED-style talks from 7-8 PM will be preceded by a meet-and-greet of the artists and followed by further discussions in the gallery.

WHERE:

EXHIBIT WILL BE AVAILABLE TO VIEW THRU SUNDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2016.
